What are the requirements for laying out a row of pcb tracks that will act as the switch when combined with the carbon button on the bottom of an elastomer keypad/button?

I have seen a keypad where the PCB has tracks covered in conducting carbon and also one where the tracks are covered in gold. I suppose the carbon will do us.

Hi Denis,
Firstly we do not provide these services in our Pcb-Pool (Gold plating or Carbon Ink). If you require any of these then contact our sales team directly and they will be happy to provide you with a Non Pool quote.
The criteria for layout of this requirment should be no different from any other track as long as you stick to the manufacturers minimum requirments for track size and gap.
