Non plated holes
Hi,

If I want to use a hole which is not plated how do I specify it on the pcb design? Should I only apply it to one copper layer or make the copper size of the hole marginally larger than the drill hole?

Many thanks

Hi Kristyan,
All Design packages have diferent ways of defining Non Plated Through Holes. If you can design your pcb so that there is no copper pad for these holes or if this is not possible then make the copper pad smaller than the drill size. Also when placing an order make a note as a special instruction that you want certain holes Non Plated. A pdf highlighting the holes would also help.

Hope this answers your question.
