Component Outline Overhangs
Sir
I have a board layout (Produced with Edwin 2000/XP) which has component outlines that overhang the edge of the board (Board mounted DB9 connectors). This means that the silkscreen layer exceeds the board size.
Do I need to edit my layout to remove all traces of components overhanging the board edge?
Regards

Hi Justin,
Thanks again for asking us here at the FAQ page of Beta LAYOUT Ltd. I am sorry to say that unfortunately we do not accept the Edwin 2000 as of yet. However, to answer your question.
No you do not need to edit the Silkscreen in your layout software! What is outside the contour will remain outside the contour, and not be included in the final product. Should you not require those traces for asthetic reason then we recommend that you edit the file to your own requirements.
So thanks again
All the Best
