Layer Numbers
Subject: Re: Re: Sending the correct data format

: : I have read on your website that you accept data in "GC-Prevue" format (.gwk). I have download the latest GC-Prevue from your website (V9.06) - so do I just import all my Gerber data, save it as a .gwk file, and then send it to you?
: : Also, if I choose the option "Soldermask: same both sides", do I send you just one layer for the soldermask (even though my PCB package produces two)?
: : Thanks for any help you can give.

: Hi Gareth,
:
: Yes it is that simple, load the drill and gerber data into GC-PREVUE save the resulting *.GWK file and send to us.

I can get this far (I'm using vutrax -> gcprevue). Each gerber I import seems to get the next layer number up, starting from 1.

What order do the layers need to be in? I've seen you say (for example) that the 'contour' (board outline?) should be layer 23 - where is a list?

Re: Layer Numbers
Hi Gyles,

Thanks for your question, we hope we can answer you clearly. The layers do not need to be in any particular order as long as it is clear which layer is which. The easiest solution is to send a short text with the order letting us know which layer is which.
With respect to using layer 23, this is the actual layer number of the contour in the Target Layout Software. You can download a free professional version of this software in English from our website:

Try it out, we think you will like it.
Thanks again for your question and we hope to be making your PCB`s in the near future.
All the best
