Via in SMD Pad
Does your PCB-POOL service allow for vias that are located directly inside the pad of an SMD component (e.g., a decoupling capacitor), or do all vias need to be stubbed?

Thank you very much in advance!

Hi Martin,
Thanks for your question, and your interest in the PCB-POOL(R).
Yes, you may place a via within an SMD pad, and we do not need all vias to be "stubbed".
Please note that if you have some vias with out a pad on the the opposite side, or the drill utilising a track on the other side of the PCB please let us know with a short text.
A couple of years ago we had experienced that one of the leading layout softwares had a bug. This bug automatically placed drills in the centre of some SMD pads, strangely not all SMD pads. This created delays for both us and the particular customers involved. So please explain what you require if the PCB is in anyway unusual.
Thanks again and we are looking forward to providing our service to you.
All the Best
