Thema: mini panel size

mini panel size
You quote on your web page 'What is PCB-Pool?' that a mini panel can be made up, by the customer, from smaller pcb designs and submitted to you for fabrication. What is the max. size of this mini panel, as you say it must 'achieve the minimum area' of 1dm2, but that it may not exceed 1 dm2? I'm confused, can you clarify?

Hi Christopher,

We would like to thank you for asking Beta LAYOUT and the PCB-POOL(R)!
You are correct when you say that 1.0dm? is the minimum order area. So: if your PCB is 0.5dm? you will pay for 1.0dm?, therefore if you would like two of these you still pay for the 1.0dm? on a mini-panel. There is a routing charge to seperate the PCB`s.
Using the above: If you have three different PCB`s of the following area, 1 x 0.3dm?, 1 x 0.4dm?, and 1 x 0.5dm?. All these PCB`s are less than the minimum area so we calculate thus:
.3 + .4 + .5 = 1.2dm?
1.2dm? + 1/2 Soldermask films + 1 routing charge.
In essence if your PCB`s are 1/5 dm? of the same type then you get 5 for the price of 1.
We hope that we have explained this well enough for you and other readers to understand.
If not then you may try our "online calculation and order" page, where you can receive PCB-POOL(R) quotes automatically. Alternatively you can send us a price inquiry. Whatever you decide we would like to provide our service to you in the future.
All the Best
